JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is reluctant to respond to the 212 Reunion activities being held today. When asked about the 212 Reunion, Anies just gave a thumbs up.

Anies' speechless response was conveyed after attending the event in the Great Hall, DKI Jakarta City Hall building. After not answering, Anies immediately went to his office.

Previously, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria had confirmed that he and Anies would not attend the 212 Reunion at the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue area.

"Tomorrow (Thursday, December 2), we have an event from the ministry," said Riza at City Hall, Wednesday, December 1.

For your information, Reunion 212 has been held in recent years. Initially, this activity began with a demonstration to urge the legal process of former DKI Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) for the blasphemy case on December 2, 2016 at Monas and its surroundings.

The following year, the organizers held the 212 Reunion on the same date. Various issues developed in line with the implementation of this activity, starting with the pressure to the government to process the case of an alleged blasphemy against Sukmawati Soekarnoputri, as well as the return of the high priest of the Islamic Defenders Front, Rizieq Shihab, to his homeland.

Various religious and political figures were present at the 212 Reunion. One of them was the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan.

Today, Reunion 212 was held in a number of regions. Action participants cannot enter the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue area. The officers installed barricades in the form of barbed wire before entering Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara and Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan.

Because they could not enter the Horse Statue, the mass of Reunion 212 gathered to form small groups that spread out on Jalan Kebon Sirih, Jalan MH Thamrin, Menteng Raya Street, Arief Rachman Hakim Street, Kramat Kwitang Street, and H. Agus Salim Street, and other.
