Detained, Jerinx SID: Something's Not Right

JAKARTA - Musician I Gede Aryastina alias Jerinx SID said there were inappropriate procedures in his detention process in cases of alleged threats of violence.

The statement was in response to the Central Jakarta District Attorney's decision to place him in the Polda Metro Jaya detention center to be detained for 20 days.

In the case of the alleged threat of violence, Jerinx and the evidence were transferred to the Central Jakarta District Attorney after the investigation file was declared complete or P21.

"Something's not right," said Jerinx to reporters, Wednesday, December 1.

Although he did not reveal in more detail the meaning of his statement, Jerinx stated that the public can assess the legal process he is undergoing.

Because during the investigation process, Jerinx was not arrested even though he had been named a suspect.

"People can judge for themselves," said Jerinx.

Previously, the Head of the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office, Bima Suparayoga, stated that the reason for the detention of Jerinx was because the sentence was more than 5 years.

"The prosecutor examined objective reasons, including the threat of 6 years, so it is possible to make an arrest," said Bima.

For information, Jerinx is a suspect in the alleged threat to social media activist Adam Deni.

The alleged threatening act began when Deni commented on Jerinx's statement about artists sponsored by COVID-19 through social media.

Deni's comments also sparked the artist's attention, thus triggering a dispute.

After a while, Jerinx's Instagram account disappeared. Jerinx then accused Deni of being the person responsible for the disappearance of the Instagram account.

Jerinx also had time to contact Deni and threatened to commit violence. On this threat, Deni had intended to open the door to mediation with Jerinx.

However, these efforts did not go smoothly and Deni also reported Jerinx to the Polda Metro Jaya.
