Completing Sri Utami's File Of Alleged Corruption Case In Fictitious Activities, KPK Examines 2 Civil Servants At The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned a number of witnesses related to allegations of corruption related to the implementation of fictitious activities at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in 2012.

Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said the witnesses were being examined to complete the file belonging to suspect Sri Utami. She is the former Head of the Transfer, Abolition, and Utilization of State Property (PPBMN) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"The investigative team has an agenda for summoning witnesses for suspect SU," said Ali to reporters, Monday, November 29.

There were four witnesses who were summoned by investigators for questioning. A total of two witnesses came from Civil Servants (PNS) of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, namely equipment staff Sarwito and Head of the Equipment Section at the General Bureau, Secretariat General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Togar.

Furthermore, former Chairman of the Mining and Energy Foundation (YPE) I Wayan Suryana and an entrepreneur named Jimmy Firdaus.

Ali did not specify what investigators would confirm. However, they are suspected of knowing the alleged corruption.

For information, Sri Utama is the coordinator of activities in the work unit at the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources together with the Secretary-General of Energy and Mineral Resources for the 2006-2013 term. She became a suspect after allegedly arranging the procurement and receiving a commission from the procurement executor which resulted in state losses of up to Rp11 billion.

For her actions, Sri was suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph 1 or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.
