Deputy Mayor of Lhokseumawe Yusuf Muhammad said the assistance in the form of food and clothing was given as a form of government attention in an effort to ease the burden on victims and families of the fire.

"Hopefully this assistance can ease the burden on victims in facing difficult times and panic after experiencing this fire disaster," said Yusuf Muhammad in Lhokseumawe, Antara, Sunday, November 28.

It is said that the city government through the Social Service will review whether the burnt building will be rebuilt or not, considering that the area is government-owned land.

On that occasion, the Deputy Mayor of Lhokseumawe invited the public to be more aware of the dangers of fire and also participate in helping fire victims.

"Lhokseumawe is an area close to the sea and of course the wind is also strong. Therefore, we must be more careful about the potential for fire disasters in their respective homes and the surrounding environment," concluded Yusuf Muhammad.

Previously, dozens of houses with wooden construction in the KP3 area, Jawa Lama Village, Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe City were burned down on Saturday, November 27 at around 22.00 western Indonesia time.

The fire started when residents sitting in a coffee shop saw a fire burning a house in the Lhokseumawe KP3 area. The fire was extinguished three hours later after 12 fire engines were dispatched to the scene.
