Obeying Central Government, Danny Pomanto Prepares Level 3 PPKM Scheme Ahead Of Christmas And New Year In Makassar

MAKASSAR - The Makassar City Government has prepared a level 3 community activity restriction (PPKM) scheme in Makassar ahead of the 2022 Christmas and New Year holidays.

Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Pomanto said in Makassar on Monday that the preparation of the level 3 PPKM scheme was more of a precautionary measure against the possibility of a spike in cases during Christmas and New Year.

"The PPKM level 3 is in accordance with the central direction and will be implemented during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 22.

Danny Pomanto said that before the implementation of the PPKM level 3 scheme, various preparations to welcome the policy had been carried out, one of which was coordinating with a number of parties.

Including consulting with religious leaders, both from Catholics and Protestants. This is so that Christmas worship can continue smoothly amid restrictions.

"Even though it will be implemented later, but it is our joint effort and endeavor. If we are all consistent with the health protocol, even if it is level 3, the spike will not occur," he said.

The mayor of Makassar for two periods explained that his party was still waiting for technical instructions for implementing PPKM level 3 before it was implemented.

Danny Pomanto also asked the public, even though they are on holiday, not to travel far or on vacation because the pandemic is still happening and the possibility of a spike also has the potential to occur.

"If it's not urgent, you don't have to. You can't go home either, love our family. Take advantage of technology, hopefully we can all be awake," he said.
