BPBD: 30 Houses Damaged Due To Landslide In Trenggalek

TRENGGALEK - The Regional Disaster Management Agency of Trenggalek Regency, East Java said that 30 houses suffered heavy and moderate damage over the past three weeks due to landslides.

"The level of damage varies. The average is the walls and kitchens of residents' houses," said Secretary of the Trenggalek BPBD, Tri Puspita Sari, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 21.

The landslide disaster occurred sporadically. In addition to residents' houses, there were a number of public facilities that were damaged, such as access roads, bridges, and school buildings.

The landslide disaster was spread in several villages in the mountainous district. The location of the landslide is included in the mapping as an area prone to landslides.

"Based on the Trenggalek BPBD mapping, there are 45 villages in 10 sub-districts that are included in landslide-prone areas. People living in these areas are advised to be aware and anticipate these threats during the rainy season," he said.

In addition to the house, the impact of the hydrometeorological disaster also caused the connecting road between hamlets in Sumberbening Village, Dongko District to be cut off.

As a result, as many as 14 families (KK) in RT 13/RW 04 Dusun Pelem were isolated.

This is because the main road connecting Pelem Hamlet and Krajan Hamlet was cut off after 15-meter long subsidence with a depth of 5 meters. Apart from cutting off residents' connectivity, the four-meter-wide subsidence road also threatens the houses under the road.

"Previously, the landslides also closed the total access to the Kampak-Munjungan road, precisely in Sarubasahan Hamlet, Besuki Village, Munjungan District. But it didn't last long, the road could be passed again after joint officers were assisted by the community to clean the landslide material," he said.

Apart from houses and road infrastructure, several vital objects such as educational facilities were also reported to have been affected by landslides. A total of two schools were reported to have been affected by landslides from a total of 38 landslide points during the 21 day period.
