Residents Of Riverbanks Still Refuse To Relocate To Flats, PDIP: Examples Of Ahok, Love Stoves Or Refrigerators

JAKARTA - Head of Commission D of the DKI Regional House of Representatives, Ida Maheasy, said that there are still several residents living along the riverbanks who are reluctant to acquire land for the normalization program.

This has caused the process of land acquisition for residential areas to be stalled, so normalization construction has not yet been carried out. Ida said that residents were reluctant to free their land because they did not want to be relocated.

"Why don't they want to relocate. Because now they live in Central Jakarta, in the south. Cook, now they have to be at the end", Ida told reporters, Tuesday, November 16.

Ida admitted that she had suggested to the DKI Provincial Government to use the method of former DKI Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) when relocating evicted residents. At that time, Ahok "seduced" residents to want to move to an apartment with various facilities.

"I said, do it the way the previous government did, give him a stimulus. Give him a stove or refrigerator", she said.

Ida gave an example of one of the locations planned for normalization relocation at the Nagrak Flats, Cilincing, North Jakarta. Until now, the Nagrak Flat is still empty of residents. Of the 14 towers built, only 2 towers were filled.

In fact, Ida admitted that she also often asked the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government to build several community service facilities near the Nagrak Flat. Because its location at the northern tip of Jakarta is considered difficult to access.

"I always encourage the Housing Office to build houses with complete facilities. For example, in Nagrak there is no market and health center, you can make it. Busway traffic can also be built there so that residents subject to normalization can move there", said Ida.

In addition, Ida also encouraged the Housing Office to build flats in South Jakarta so that they would move to a location not too far from their old residence.

"In 2022, we encourage the land acquisition and it is hoped that by 2023 flats in South Jakarta can be built", she concluded.
