For NasDem Party, Jokowi Is Good At Leading: Respected Abroad But Reproached By His Own Nation

JAKARTA - Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh praised the leadership of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) during a speech commemorating the 10th Anniversary of the NasDem Party, Thursday, November 11 today. Thanks to this expertise, Jokowi has received praise from leaders abroad.

Unfortunately, according to Surya Paloh, although he is seen as successful in managing the crisis by foreign leaders, Jokowi cannot be separated from criticism and even insults that come from his own nation. Amazingly, Jokowi humbly accepts it all.

"That in the midst of the difficulties of all nations on the surface of the earth, all heads of government in every country are facing a crisis, this has implications but we are grateful for the Indonesia we have, once again under such skilled leadership, with all humility, open to receiving input, willing to accept criticism, willing to accept even insults. This nation, today can stand up straight and get appreciation from other nations," said Surya Paloh to the applause of the audience, watched on Youtube NasDem TV, Thursday, October 11.

Thanks to his expertise in maintaining national stability in the midst of this crisis, Jokowi has directly implicated the role and existence of parties, including NasDem.

Therefore, there are two things that need to be monitored by NasDem going forward. First, consistently overseeing the administration of government so that it remains effective until the end of the term of office.

Next is to prepare for the continuity of future leadership. In this context, Surya Paloh presupposes that if the constitution does not limit the term of office of a president, then all NasDem cadres will already know who will be re-nominated.

"If only our constitution did not limit the president's term of office to only two times, I no longer need to answer the question of the cadres of this party, who is our next presidential candidate after Jokowi,"
