DENPASAR - Bali International Airport Manager I Gusti Ngurah Rai has prepared special lane facilities at the airport for the arrival of a contingent of athletes who will compete at the Indonesia Badminton Festival 2021.

The Indonesia Badminton Festival 2021 international scale badminton tournament will be held on the Island of the Gods, Bali, and will be attended by athletes from 24 countries from November 16, 2021, to December 5, 2021.

"PT Angkasa Pura I International Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali is enthusiastic in this international scale activity. With the appointment of the island of Bali as the host of the badminton tournament, as the airport operator we have prepared special facilities for its arrival," said the General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali Herry AY Sikado told reporters, Wednesday, November 10.

He said he had prepared a special lane for athletes using the A25 aircraft parking to access gate 1C so that the arrival process was smoother.

"On that route, there will still be inspections from the Port Health Office officers, both checking body temperature and travel documents, as well as one of the filters to anticipate the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.

Herry Sikado explained, prior to the arrival of the 2021 Indonesia Badminton Festival contingent, his party had also coordinated with relevant stakeholders or stakeholders to discuss the technical arrival of the athletes in the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport area.

"So that the health protocol during the COVID-19 pandemic can continue, especially since the entire contingent of athletes is dispatched using a charter plane, not mixing with other public passengers," he said.

The first batch of the 2021 Indonesian Badminton Festival athlete contingent arrived at Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport on Wednesday (10/11) early this morning using the Batik Air airline with registration PK-LZH for the Jakarta-Bali route.

"The plane carried 149 passengers. Next, the last athlete arrival schedule is until November 11, 2021," said Herry Sikado.

He added, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport as one of the gateways to the island of Bali also continues to anticipate the spread of COVID-19 through various pandemic prevention efforts in the airport area.

"Seeing that the condition of the COVID-19 pandemic on the island of Bali has been sloping, that's what we have to take care of. In addition, through the Indonesia Badminton Festival 2021, we hope to support the increase in tourism visits in Bali," he said.
