Police Intensify Security Raids Ahead Of World Superbike At Mandalika Circuit

PRAYA - Ahead of the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC) and World Superbike (WSBK) racing events at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit, the Central Lombok Police, West Nusa Tenggara began conducting raids to improve security and prevent disturbances to public order.

"We have dispatched members to carry out raids to create conditions to maintain and improve security in Central Lombok," said Central Lombok Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Hery Indra Cahyono in Praya quoted by Antara, Monday, November 8.

In addition to carrying out enhanced raid activities (KRYD) by all line police, in the near future the Mandalika Rinjani 2021 operation will be held ahead of WSBK at the Mandalika Circuit.

"This is all an effort to maintain security and support the WSBK event," he said.

The targets of these raids are of course all places that are often used for activities and people who carry out activities, so that they can still provide a sense of security and comfort.

"This is one of the prevention efforts, against all forms of potential disturbances in public order, public health, and socialization of the implementation of the COVID-19 Health protocol," he said.

In addition to conducting joint patrols and raids with the TNI and the Transportation Service, his party will also secure lanes on all roads that become access to the circuit, both from the Airport Bypass road and from the west side.

"We will also conduct traffic engineering at all points of entry to the circuit to avoid congestion during the event," he said.

The police chief also appealed to the public to support and succeed in this international event, because this race is the beginning of preparations for the upcoming 2022 MotoGP.

"If this event is a success, MotoGP can certainly be carried out, if there are obstacles, MotoGP will certainly be a consideration in the future," he said.

In this security, later for the need for personnel, it will be backed up from the National Police Headquarters in addition to additional members from the NTB Police.

"The number of personnel from the Central Lombok Police is currently more than 1,000. Once again I invite all people to make this event a success," he said.

As previously reported, the West Nusa Tenggara Police will apply layered security at the idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC) and World Superbike events at the Pertamina Mandalika Lombok Circuit, the access road to the circuit is strictly guarded.

"For security, it has been prepared comprehensively. All entry routes have been arranged, whether they enter from the Lombok Airport Bypass road or from the west and east, as well as visitors staying overnight have also simulated security techniques," said NTB Police Chief Inspector General Moh Iqbal.

In the context of implementing the IATC and WSBK events, it is necessary to support good security to ensure security, safety, order, and smooth traffic in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
