General Andika Perkasa's Big Smile After Being Approved By The DPR To Become TNI Commander

JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives has approved General Andika Perkasa to become the TNI Commander to replace Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, who is entering retirement. This approval is through a plenary session of the DPR.

After attending the plenary meeting at the DPR, General Andika's face brightened. General Andika was happy that the DPR did not reject him as TNI Commander.

With a smile, the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) who is now the elected TNI Commander thanked the DPR.

"All media colleagues, I just want to say a big thank you to the leadership of the DPR and all members of the DPR RI who have approved the President's letter regarding my appointment," General Andika said with a smile at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Monday, November 8.

Not to forget, General Andika Perkasa also thanked the media crew. "The most important thing is also my gratitude to the media colleagues who have followed since the beginning of the process," said General Andika.

After going through the process in the DPR, of course in the future is his inauguration as TNI Commander replacing Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto. The inauguration will be carried out by President Joko Widodo.

However, General Andika does not yet know when the inauguration will take place. "Next time I'm still waiting for the official confirmation from the president, that's right," he added.

Asked about the program and future steps as TNI Commander, Andika was reluctant to comment further.

"I'll promise after it's official, I haven't yet, don't let me overtake. Not now, don't let me be GR (too confident, ed) like that," said General Andika.
