Zero COVID-19 Death Cases In Batam In The Last 20 Days

BATAM - The Batam City, Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force recorded zero deaths from COVID-19 in the local area in the last 20 days.

In the Task Force's statement, the last case of death from COVID-19 occurred on October 18, bringing the total to 840 at that time. Then until Sunday, November 7, the number of people who died was still recorded at 840 people.

According to the report from the Task Force which was distributed by the Head of the Batam Kominfo Agency, Azril Apriansyah, it was stated that of the 840 cases of death in Batam, 432 of them were without comorbidities, and 408 others with comorbidities.

It was noted that the highest comorbid diseases in COVID-19 death cases were diabetes mellitus as many as 215 cases, hypertension as many as 181 cases, and pneumonia as many as 104 cases.

Meanwhile, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in Batam City were 25,831 people, 24,982 of whom were declared cured, 840 people died, until only nine cases were still active.

Of the nine people who are still active with COVID-19, seven of them are undergoing self-isolation, and two others are being treated at two local referral hospitals, one each at Awal Bros Hospital and Embung Fatimah Hospital.

"The cure rate is 96.71 percent, the death rate is 3.25 percent, and active cases are 0.04 percent," said the COVID-19 Task Force report, quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 7.

Today, there were no additional confirmed positive COVID-19 people, no recovered cases, as well as those who died.

Meanwhile, the spread of the Corona virus is relatively controllable. Now there are no more districts with red zones.

In the buffer islands, out of the three hinterland sub-districts, all are green zones.

On the main island, of the nine sub-districts, six of them are green zones, namely Sekupang, Lubukbaja, Batuampar, Bengkong, Sei Beduk, and Sagulung. The other three sub-districts in the yellow zone are Batuaji, Batam Kota and Nongsa.
