Begal Perpetrators Arrested In Ancol Area Confess Revenge For Being Beaten By Ojol Driver

JAKARTA - Suroto, an online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol) was robbed by his passengers using a kitchen knife in the Ancol area, Pademangan, North Jakarta. Luckily Suroto was not injured even though at that time a kitchen knife was stuck in his stomach.

According to Suroto's confession, at that time he received an order from Teluk Gong to Kota Tua. However, the perpetrator's initial W asked him to take him to the Pluit area.

"Then he wanted to stab in the back. He said if you don't obey me, I'll kill you here, I have a grudge against Grab," said the victim, imitating the perpetrator's words, to reporters at Pospol Bintang, Thursday, November 4.

Along the way, the passenger kept pointing a kitchen knife at Suroto's waist. This man could not fight it for fear of his life being lost. However, in the middle of the trip, the perpetrator again changed his route asking to be delivered to Tanjung Priok.

Arriving in the Ancol area, the perpetrator asked Suroto to get off his motorbike.

"The knife is behind me. Then he told me, you get off, I want to take the motorbike," he said.

Not wanting to lose his motorbike, Suroto stopped his motorbike in front of a shop, on Jalan Lodan Raya, Ancol. Suroto ran to ask for help from local residents.

"Brother, please, sir, I am being held at gunpoint by him," said Suroto.

The perpetrator was immediately arrested and secured to the Pademangan Traffic Police post. From the back pocket of the perpetrator, found evidence of a kitchen knife. For further processing, perpetrator W was again brought to the Pademangan Police Headquarters.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pademangan Police, Iptu Zharfan Edmond, said that after receiving the report, his party immediately rushed to the location to secure the perpetrators for further legal proceedings.

"We have secured the perpetrators suspected of being held up. We will investigate, later they will be examined first," he said.

According to the perpetrator's confession, he held the knife because he was annoyed that he had been beaten by a group of motorcycle taxi drivers.
