KUDUS - Central Java Governor, Ganjar Pranowo, asked the public to increase their preparedness in anticipating the threat of natural disasters this rainy season. BMKG (Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency) called Ganjar predicts rainfall in December will be quite high.

"Especially for Kudus Regency, it must be a concern because there are frequent natural disasters", he said when he visited Suara Kudus Radio in Kudus, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 3.

Ganjar said that Kudus is prone to natural disasters, among others, because of the geological conditions and the forests in the Muria Mountains which need reforestation by cooperation by the Pati, Jepara, and Kudus regencies.

Everyone, he said, must care and keep the area green again so that it is not threatened by natural disasters.

"Because the time is not only a year or two, but it can take up to 10 years to withstand the possibility of flooding, including the Kendeng Mountains, which also cross-regionally must be attacked together", continued Ganjar.

He said planting reforestation trees to grow big takes a long time.

"Because planting it takes a long time and can't be done in a short time, it needs to be alert", he said.

The Governor of Central Java emphasized the importance of district/city governments providing education and distributing disaster maps to the community.

"With conditions like this and seeing the rainfall, personnel needs to be alerted, including their logistical needs", he said.

In addition, Ganjar Pranowo asked BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency) to conduct evacuation drills so that personnel and residents can act quickly and appropriately in handling natural disasters.

"So in conditions like now with heavy rainfall, when a potential disaster occurs in a vulnerable area, it can be anticipated", he said.

Regarding the flash flood that hit Wonosoco Village, Kudus Regency on Tuesday, November 2, which caused damage to a resident's house, and one house was reported to have collapsed, said Ganjar, treatment has been carried out, while the victim has received assistance.
