Not Only Haram, Uki Ex NOAH Likens Music Like A Poison

JAKARTA - Uki Kautsar or Uki ex-NOAH became a wide public conversation after moving and declaring music is haram. According to him, music can also open the door to immorality. The statement was reaffirmed in Ustaz Syafiq Riza Basalamah's YouTube channel entitled 'Who Said Music is Haram? (Siapa Bilang Musik Haram?)'.

Uki ex-NOAH admitted that he was very disturbed when listening to music. He thinks music can now irritate him.

"In fact, what I feel is disturbing. After listening to music, there is a missing verse, I feel like that. Because we have been listening to music for a long time. In the past, I had a lot of music in my head. So when we were at the mall, on the plane, there is another hearing, it's like being disturbed. Suddenly there must be something that sticks, upset in the heart, it takes about a week to disappear again", he was quoted as saying Tuesday, August 24.

Uki even likens music to poison. He also had to remove the poison for a long time.

"So he's like a poison that sticks, for a while, especially since we've been used to hearing it. So it does sound disturbing, Ustadz", he continued.

This belief was not suddenly obtained, Uki ex-NOAH believed that music was haram after studying for three years. He admitted that he initially contradicted the statement about the music.

"Experiences like the one that Ustadz said earlier when I went to Jember also tried to be fair to myself, wanting to hear opinions rather than clerics who forbade and justify. Because for three years I was always looking for justifications about the halalness of music", he said.

However, Uki Kautsar feels that Ustaz's views on halal music collide with logic. Until finally he got enlightenment and believed that music is haram.

"But every time they look for what they make lawful, it always collides with logic. In the sense that when they have many opinions, for example, birds are musical instruments and all kinds of things, but we as musicians don't look for birds when we go to music stores. Logically, we are musicians, and sellers of many musical instruments are not fit with the logic", he said.

His belief that music is haram is what makes Uki ex-NOAH not hesitate to express his opinion. "At that time there was no room for rejection, it's just a matter of what you want to do with what you're looking for. For me, it's undeniable", he continued.
