Rhoma Irama Donates Rp100 Million to Dangdut Musicians whose Royalties are Missing at LMKN

JAKARTA - King of Dangdut Rhoma Irama chose to take concrete action out of concern for the fate of the country's dangdut musicians.

Rhoma personally donated Rp100 million to members of the RAI and ARDI Collective Management Agency (LMK) whose royalties have not yet been paid by the National Collective Management Agency (LMKN).

This step was taken following a crucial situation ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, where the economic needs of artists tend to increase sharply.

The delay in the distribution of royalties is considered an impact of systemic problems in the new governance that is underway. Rhoma emphasized that this assistance is a form of the deepest empathy for colleagues who are directly affected by the policy.

He understands very well the difficulties faced by musicians, especially those who are very dependent on their intellectual works to make a living.

"I can feel it, friends. I'm contributing 100 million to be shared," said Rhoma Irama in an official statement received on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

As a senior figure in the music industry, the singer of "Begadang" did not stay silent in fighting for the rights of artists. Communication has been made with the leadership of LMKN, although it has not reached an agreement.

Rhoma had asked the institution, which now collects music royalties, to be willing to use unclaimed royalties to be distributed to musicians.

"I have conveyed to Fahmi (Commissioner of LMKN), 'Please save the children from the unclaimed this Eid. Try whatever it is, save these children because Eid wants to go home.' I said, 'Try it from the unclaimed, what is the formula like that we will discuss next.'," he said.

Even though he was disappointed with the bureaucracy that hindered the economic rights of artists, Rhoma Irama still appealed to LMK members to keep the atmosphere conducive. He emphasized the importance of using common sense and patience in consistently fighting for royalty justice.
