Nabila Taqiyyah Raises the Phenomenon of "Cegil" in her Latest Single

JAKARTA - Young singer Nabila Taqiyyah, a graduate of Indonesian Idol, greeted her fans again with a new single titled "Cegil" which was released through Universal Music Indonesia.

In her latest work, Nabila tries to raise the popular phenomenon on social media into the form of a musical narrative.

The term 'cegil' which is an acronym for 'crazy girl', has recently become a discussion on various social media platforms such as TikTok to describe a woman's obsession in pursuing love.

However, in this song, Nabila gives a more sweet and positive perspective on a woman's persistence in fighting for her heart's desire.

"The short story, this girl just wants to be with this guy, because she already loves him. She loves it. So she really hopes that the guy can be with her forever," said Nabila in her statement, Sunday, January 18.

"Sometimes when you are in love, you can't deny it, you must have a basic thought that you have to be the same as him," he added.

Nabila not only acts as a singer, but also directly intervenes in the creative process of writing lyrics. She worked with the S/EEK producer team to package this song into a cheerful pop work that highlights the groovy side.

Simple and straightforward lyrics are deliberately chosen so that the message that wants to be conveyed can be easily accepted and feel relevant to the listeners, especially women who are feeling deeply in love.

Meanwhile, the arrangement features a light harmony but is still able to invite listeners to move to the rhythm.

To complement the release of the latest single, Nabila also launched a music video directed by Yopi Gunawan and Giri Maulana.

This music video features a beautiful visual, where Nabila plays a role with actor Adzando Davema.

Through the single "Cegil", Nabila hopes that young women can find an anthem that represents their feelings.

"I hope this song can represent the feelings and hopes of those who are feeling the same thing in a love relationship," he said.
