Melani Mecimapro Proposes Suspension Of Detention At The Initial Session Of Alleged Embezzlement And Fraud

JAKARTA - Director of PT Melania Citra Permata (Mecimapro), Fransiska Dwi Meilani alias Melani, submitted a suspension of detention to the panel of judges.

This was stated by Melani's attorney, Ardi Wira, in the inaugural trial of alleged embezzlement and fraud at the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, December 2.

Ardi explained that the suspension of detention for Melani was based on her poor health condition.

"We from the legal advisory team submitted a suspension of detention, considering that our client was in a health condition that from the start the detention was not doing well," Ardi told the media crew after the first trial.

He also submitted the decision to the panel of judges who handled his client's case.

"Indeed there are health complaints, but all the decisions are in the panel of judges," he said. We will try to convey that Melani's condition is not healthy.

Furthermore, Ardi said, Melani's poor health condition did not come recently, but before she was detained by the police.

"If the illness is indeed a disease from before entering, in detention there is already an outpatient disease," said Ardi.

"For the pain, we have already conveyed it to the panel of judges. We'll just have to wait for the decision from the panel of judges," he concluded.

For information, Melani was charged for harming PT Media Inspiration of the Nation as a colleague in cooperation in holding a Twice concert in Jakarta on December 23, 2023.

He was threatened with crime as regulated in Article 372 of the Criminal Code concerning embezzlement or Article 378 of the Criminal Code regarding fraud.
