Where Have You Been Becomes The Anticipated Holy City Rollers Second Album Bridge

JAKARTA - Holy City Rollers' journey is entering a new chapter. The band, which carries an alternative melossy and energy-packed rock music, composed the second full album to be released soon, opened with a single titled Where Have You Been.

Since skyrocketing through his debut album, First Chapter of Allordia (2007), the band has started to steal attention on independent music scene. This album is said to be a marker of time for its generation.

This new single is a song that marks the change in the color of their music. With the small melodies flowing gently and vocals inviting you to sing, this song moves quietly but keeps the typical Holy City Rollers energy.

Through the tone and lyrics, Where Have You Been feels like a break between the two phases of life between the old and the present. This song dives into an inner conversation full of questions, just like a letter to yourself.

"The message we want to convey briefly may be more stubborn people to face and accept any changes," they explained in a written broadcast, October 31.

The band, which consists of Mesa Sinaga (vocals, guitar), Andrey Miko (bass), Stevanus Shada (drums), and Alfiando Krishna (guitar), is trying a new approach in arrangement and production.

"We are exploring more arrangements, maybe in terms of changing the dynamics of the part-by-part transition in this song, and also a fresh sound engineering, different from our previous albums," they explained.

This process also marks the efforts of Holy City Rollers to renew without leaving their distinctive character behind. Together with Franki Indrasmoro as producer and Caturadi Septembrianto as co-producer, Holy City Rollers mixed an honest and efficient sound without an overlayer. Smooth but energetic.

This song was chosen as the album's opening single because the title fits the Holy City Rollers today. A reflection of the time that has passed and the things they have found along the way. We think in terms of title and theme, this song is most appropriate as an album opener, because it describes our current position," they explained.

Angela Judiyanto's artwork strengthens that meaning: Simple in such a way, store the same depth as the song. Where Have You Been is the gateway to their second full album which will be released in November, which they call a collection of all-time songs, can be heard in any time and condition of feeling.
