Prince Poetiray and Giring Ganesha's Stunning Performance at 2025 GBN Concert

JAKARTA - Gita Bahana Nusantara (GBN) 2025 Independence Concert was held with great success at Fatahillah Park in Jakarta's Old Town area on Saturday evening, August 9th. The event featured the golden-voiced singer Prince Poetiray and the Deputy Minister of Culture, Giring Ganesha.

Accompanied by the Gita Bahana Nusantara choir and orchestra, Prince sang a soulful rendition of "Selalu Ada di Nadimu" (Always There in Your Heart) from the animated film "JUMBO."

Meanwhile, Giring also performed with the Gita Bahana Nusantara choir and orchestra in the concert, themed "Eight Decade Symphony."

During the concert, the GBN 2025 group performed songs including "Oh Indonesiaku" (formerly "O Tano Batak" by Siddik Sitompul), "Rangkaian Melati," "Di Atas Awan," and "Indonesia Jiwaku."

"Tonight we are witnessing a musical concert, deeply experiencing the long journey of independence and how our nation has transformed through melodies and harmonizing voices," said Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, August 10.

"This eight-decade symphony invites us to feel the throbbing spirit of the proclamation and the cultural diversity we call megadiversity," he added.

GBN 2025 includes a total of 186 people, consisting of a 116-member choir and a 70-member orchestra.

These talented students, university students, and young people selected from 33 provinces are prepared to perform at the 80th anniversary celebration of the Republic of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace on August 17, which includes a carnival, a folk festival, and an arts festival.

The Minister of Culture described GBN as a platform for young talents from various regions to create and collaborate.

"Musical culture unites diversity in the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity). I want these young musicians to continue to be part of our journey toward a Golden Indonesia 2045," he said.
