JAKARTA - Several songwriters who are members of the All-Indonesian Composters Association (AKSI) visited the Ministry of Law (Kemenkum) today, Thursday, February 27.

Previously, Agnez Mo and several singers who were members of the Indonesian Voice Vibration (VISION) visited the Ministry of Law and Human Rights on February 19.

The presence of the ACTION to meet the Minister of Law (Menkum) Supratman Andi Agtas, in order to convey input for the revision of the Copyright Law (UUHC).

"Today I receive or the arrival of the next special guests from the All-Indonesian Composters Association or songwriters, in order to provide input to the government, in this case the Ministry of Law, for the planned revision of the Copyright Law," Supratman said during a press conference after an audience with ACTION.

Supratman welcomed the proposal from ACTION, which includes the problem of the Collective Management Institute (LMK) and the possibility of implementing direct license.

"Earlier the input was very good, there were things related to how the Collective Management Institute was, then there were proposals related to the direct license system. We accommodate everything," he said.

Regarding the UUHC revision, Supratman emphasized that the attitude taken would be based on the goals of a better Indonesian music ecosystem.

"But the most important thing is that we have to create a music ecosystem in Indonesia that guarantees intellectual property rights," said Supratman.

"Therefore, once again, that all stakeholders in the music ecosystem must obtain certainty, guarantees, rights attached to creation regarding intellectual property," he continued.

Meanwhile, Piyu as the General Chair of ACTION said that his party had conveyed various problems faced by songwriters in Indonesia who had not yet received their economic rights.

"We convey to the Minister, this ACTION will always fight for it, and it turns out that the Minister gave a positive response. That the government is now committed to making many changes immediately," said Piyu.

"Only as the Minister said, we are still waiting for the revision process which is currently still ongoing. Hopefully, this draft can be given immediately, and we can find out which one might be interpreted more correctly," he concluded.
