JAKARTA - The good news comes from the independent music scene of the country. The psychedelic rock band from Wonosari, The Melting Minds, is confirmed to be included in the lineup of Jam Jam Asia 2026 which will be held in Taipei, Taiwan.

This success is proof that the work of regional musicians is able to break through national boundaries and stand alongside other names in the global arena.

On the stage of Jam Jam Asia 2026, the band known for its distortion and experimental exploration will share the stage with a row of Asian musicians and groups, such as Hyukoh from South Korea, to Atarashii Gakko from Japan.

Through their official Instagram account, The Melting Minds also shared their feelings of sadness and enthusiasm for this extraordinary achievement. The music they originally concocted in a narrow space, ready to resonate on the international stage.

"From the dry land south of Wonosari, a small signal crosses the distant ocean. This August, we will take part in JAM JAM Asia 2026 in Taipei with artists from all continents," said The Melting Minds, quoting the statement of the uploaded post, Thursday, June 18.

"What started as noise in a small room somehow spread across borders, languages, and oceans. What started as a restless mind became a signal in itself, moving from one place to another, gathering stories, encounters, and echoes along the way. The signal reaches the first horizon. See you in Taipei," he continued.

In addition to The Melting Minds, Indonesia's representation at the 2026 Jam Jam Asia event is also getting stronger with the presence of Voice of Baceprot (VoB), a metal trio from Garut who have previously successfully rocked the Glastonbury stage.

The presence of these two delegations further confirms the important position of Indonesian musicians in the current Asian music map.

The Asia Jam Jam Festival itself is known as one of the largest platforms that brings together the best cross-genre music talents from various countries in Asia.

The event, which is scheduled to take place in August, is expected to be a bigger stepping stone for Indonesian musicians to expand their audience networks in the international music market.
