Responding To The Polemics Of Ari Bias And Agnez Mo, Ikke Nurjanah: We Are Attacked By Our Own Friends

JAKARTA - Ikke Nurjanah admitted that she was saddened by the legal problems that occurred between Ari Bias and Agnez Mo. Regardless of who was wrong and right, the 50-year-old singer regretted the feud between the songwriter and the singer.

"Actually, it's sad, why is it polemic in a creative space. Between the creator and the singer, it's actually a synergy that is always harmonious," said Ikke Nurjanah when met at Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, Thursday, February 13.

Basically, said Ikke, a singer needs song material written by Creator. However, songwriters who sometimes can't sing also need singers for their work.

"This is basic talk, as we need each other, that's why we say ecosystems," added Ikke.

Seeing the decision of the Central Jakarta Commercial Court which decided Agnez Mo had committed copyright infringement and sentenced him to pay a loss fine of Rp. 1.5 billion, Ikke felt that the singer was the one who was very disadvantaged.

"On this decision, how come we are the ones who are at odds, how come we are the singers in quotes, how come we are attacked with our own friends," he said.

"From a personal point of view, I am sad because we are fighting with our own friends, rudely fighting or we have polemics with our own friends in one package as an ecosystem."

Although he admitted that he was surprised by the decision, the singer, who was famous for the song Terlena, said that what happened in the legal process must still be respected.

"Honestly shocked, as far as I know the sued should be the organizer of the commercial space. In my eyes, because I am on the one hand in my life lesson as an LMKN Commissioner, in the end who should pay is the commercial or the organizer," said Ikke.

"But in principle the state is here. But the form of socialization and education is important, that protecting the singer's side, protecting the creator's side, and protecting the user's own side," he concluded.
