Gerindra Pays License To LMKN, Sufmi Dasco: We Don't Want To Be Sued Later, Poor Those Who Sing

JAKARTA - In the midst of the issue of music royalties that returned to heat after the decision on the Ari Bias case with Agnez Mo, what happened at the 17th Gerindra Anniversary celebration concert became interesting to see.

As is known, the decision of the Central Jakarta Commercial Court to grant Ari Bias' lawsuit against Agnez Mo has caused pros and cons among Indonesian music personnel regarding who should give permission or license and who pays royalties.

Meanwhile, the Gerindra Party held an event titled Conser Perjuangan at the Senayan Parliament Complex Healthy Heart Field, Central Jakarta on Friday, February 7 evening. This music show presents Seventeen, Vierratale, Kangen Band, and Nassar as performers.

What made this event interesting was that the Gerindra Party, as the concert organizer, obtained a license for the use of songs from the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN) contradicting Ari Bias' statement.

In the procession of handing over license certificates by LMKN on stage, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad representing the organizers stated that what was done was a form of compliance with existing regulations.

Dasco said he did not want the performers at this concert to face lawsuits in the future.

"For those present today, this is a certificate of certificate that royalties that bring events, artists, have been paid. The songs have been paid. Later, if not, suddenly two billion, three billion are demanded, sorry for those who sing later," said Dasco when receiving the license certificate.

"We, Gerindra, comply with the regulations. Fight with the people, we will definitely pay," he continued.

At the same time, Dharma Oratmangun as Chair of the LMKN welcomed what the event organizers were doing.

He ensured that there would be no legal problems from this show.

"We, the National Collective Management Institute, a government aid agency, a state aid agency, are regulated under Law Number 28 of 2014, the products of fathers and women are also in this DPR, together with the government," said Dharma.

"Therefore, with this certificate, I make sure all performers, musicians, and so on, including the Gerindra Party and EO, will not be prosecuted for the use of song creation," he added.

Dharma hopes that other political parties will also obey the Copyright Law, considering that they often hold music performances.

"And we hope that other parties will also participate. PDIP and Golkar have already paid. Once again, this is proof that gentlemen and women who make laws comply with the law," he said.
