Basyir Jamili Reflects On Himself Through Single Titled Sem; Colon

JAKARTA - Basyir Jamil introduced his latest single entitled 'Sem;colon'. This song is the fourth release since debuting in February 2021, and became the first work in two years.

Sem;colon is likened to a collection of episodes that have occurred in Basyir's life. This song is a sequel to another single released in October 2021, Starting Over.

If Starting Over reflects the relationship between Basyir and listeners, then the single Sem;colon reflects Basyir who directly faces himself.

"It is not easy to establish heart-to-heart communication with a friend who is also a real enemy, which we must meet every day," said Basyir Jamili in his statement, Sunday, December 29.

Furthermore, Basyir also tried to experiment with a new style. Different from the other three singles, he worked on a 'Sem;colon' with a city pop element that was so strong, which had never been done before.

Through his latest single, Basyir is also happy because he has the opportunity to work with musicians who are very open to experience, rich in perspective, and kind.

These musicians made him more inspired when completing this single.

Meanwhile, those who helped in this single production were Popo Fauza as producer and music arranger, Riani Sovana as co-producer and vocal director, Alena Wu as music and sound arranger, as well as mixing and mastering by Willy Subakti.
