Bumblefoot Gets Brian May And Steve Vai Involved In His Solo Album

JAKARTA - Former Guns N 'Roses guitarist Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal is busy preparing his latest solo album. According to the news, he will involve special collaborators such as Brian May and Steve Vai.

Ron, who is now the guitarist of Art of Anarchy, revealed this in his interview with WRIF radio. According to him, the latest album will launch on January 24 next year.

"The first album I've ever released on Shrapnel Records [in 1995], is an instrumental guitar album titled 'The Adventures Of Bumblefoot'," Thal quoted Blabbermouth as saying on December 13.

Bumblefoot revealed the desire to make a new album has emerged since the pandemic. His wish will soon be realized in the near future.

"And it's just a bunch of weird guitar music. And since then I've always been doing vocal things and other things with bands and so on. And then, during the pandemic, I feel itching. I was like, 'Let me do more instrumental things and release albums.' And yes, it will be released soon," he explained.

Regarding the involvement of guitar virtuoso, Steve Vai and Brian May, the musicians who will perform at the Dewa 19 All Stars Vol concert. These 2

" Brian and I have been interacting for the last 15 years or more, as have Steve for, like, 10 years. So, I asked them and my friend Govan I've known since we were teenagers, since 1989," Bumblefoot said.

"I appeared in guitar magazine once, and he wrote a letter to me. He said, 'Hi, I'm a guitarist. I live in England. Let's see my demo.' And I said, 'It's cool, cool.' And we're pen friends. We write each other handwritten letters and send each other cassettes containing all our little demos, and we've been friends ever since."

The collaboration work on this solo album was carried out separately by the guitarists involved. Bumblefoot sees this as commonplace today, and has no major effect on the results he wants to show on the album.

Finally, he revealed how happy he was to involve top musicians to participate in his upcoming album, especially Brian May, whom he admires as a musician and personal.

"All the guests on this album are great people, otherwise I wouldn't want them to be on this album. That's the first and foremost. However, he is really a sweet and great guy. And he is very smart," he concluded.
