JAKARTA - Due to Deryck Whispery (vocals)' unfavorable conditions, SUM 41 announced that their entire tour schedule in Australia had been canceled, including performances at the Good Things Festival.
Whibyy had to be hospitalized in Australia due to pneumonia, and a team of doctors assessed that the vocalist's condition was not good enough to get on stage.
"With deep sadness and regret, we announce that our 2024 Australian tour cannot be continued," read a statement by SUM 41 via Facebook on Thursday, December 5.
"We are very happy to be able to hold this tour from December 4 to December 12, and reconnect with our Australian fans. Now that we are here, and under the guidance and direction of many Australian doctors, it is clear that Daryck is too unwell to perform. We understand and appreciate your disappointment we are also disappointed.
The band with the hits 'Still Waiting' continued its statement by informing that the Good Things Festival was still held according to plan, even without their presence.
The good news is that the Good Things Festival is still taking place in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this weekend, with outstanding ranks of local and international artists. We can't be there, but support us and enjoy the best time."
Meanwhile, this Australian tour is part of the celebration of their eighth and final studio album, Heaven: x: Hell, which was released last March.

The announcement of the entire tour in Australia is a continuation of the cancellation of the show at the Fortitude Valley Music Hall, Brisbane on December 4.
At that time, SUM 41 stated, "Unfortunately, we had to make a difficult decision to cancel tonight's show in Brisbane because Deryck was diagnosed with pneumonia. He received the best local care possible."
This is the second time that fans in Australia have been unable to see the Canadian rocker because of Whibyy's health condition. In 2011, they canceled their appearance at the Soundwave Festival after Whibyy was hospitalized with pneumonia.
