Minister Of Culture Hopes Music Can Be A Power Of Unifying The Nation

JAKARTA - Minister of Culture Fadli Zon gave his appreciation to Indonesian music actors. He conveyed this in his remarks at the AMI Awards 2024 peak event which was held at Ciputra Artpreneur Jakarta on Wednesday, December 4.

"It doesn't matter who brings home the award, actually all of you are winners and guards of our cultural lives," Fadli said in his remarks quoting ANTARA.

He said that the Indonesian Music Award (AMI) was a celebration of travel and achievement in the field of music.

"Tonight we gather to celebrate the achievement, remember the journey, as well as embrace the potential future of Indonesian music," he said.

Fadli called music a reflection of culture, as a universal language that exceeds territorial and language boundaries, as well as a means that can be used to unite diverse communities.

"Music as an integral part of culture must be able to become a binding power or a unifying force," he said.

Fadli also said that the theme of the 2024 AMI Awards, "New Generation Music", reflects the spirit of innovation without forgetting the roots of tradition.

He appreciated the steps taken by the AMI Awards organizers to present award categories for electro dangdut, koplo, to musical theaters.
