JAKARTA - Jakarta-based independent band Everlook released their debut album Story, which depicts the dualism of reality.

As quoted by Antara from the caption, Monday, the album with 12 folk-rock songs seeks to show two sides of the reality of human life, the good side that depicts a colorful life, happiness, and joy, while the other part depicts a dark life filled with emptiness and despair.

"The contradictory depiction of two sides of life from our first album ('Story)' aims to present a variety of stories from various happy and difficult situations especially in times of pandemic like this," said the vocalist Erka.

The guitarist of the band formed in November 2019, Danau Angkasa, added that the pandemic situation does feel difficult because it requires oneself to keep a distance from their loved ones, with various restrictions.

"We are more often connected to cyberspace. So I hope this Story can accompany and represent the various emotions that we feel every day both positive and negative as part of human feelings," said Angkasa.

The first part of the story tells the beauty of romance, sincere expression, and the positive energy of life. The album opens with Intro and "Running Out of Time". Followed by the next song with the unique lyrics on Hold On, My Love, and Ekepupu.

In the second part of the album, it depicts a more realistic and pragmatic perspective of various emotions through Prayer of a Lover. Followed by a song inspired by Erka's family life, Come Again/Castaway.

The second part of the album brings the listener oriented in a different atmosphere by inserting the Interlude as a "pause". At the end of the album, Everlook tell their listeners to accept every feeling present, reinterpret it, and slowly realize complicated human emotions or feelings.

This newcomer indie musician who managed to lure music lovers produced his album through collaborations with D27 Studio and WestEnd Jakarta Records. Everlook's Story album is now available on various digital music services.
