Butler'sester Reveals Ozzy Osbourne's Response When Expelled From Black Sabbath

JAKARTA - Butler's tracker (bass) recalls the moment when Black Sabbath decided to issue Ozzy Osbourne (vocals). The moment took place in 1979, after they released eight studio albums.

The 75-year-old bassist said the initial proposal to issue Ozzy was delivered by Tony Iommi (guitar). When it arrived at the decision, the singer with the nickname Prince of Darkness was very surprised.

"He (Ozzy) couldn't believe it. I mean, it feels like being hit by a brick," Butler said as a guest on Bob Lefsetz's recent podcast.

The bassist said Ozzy, who was usually surrounded by his bandmates, suddenly became alone.

"I mean, we have each other, but Ozzy doesn't have anyone," saidester.

"And fortunately at that time Sharon (who later became Ozzy's wife) came and saved her," he continued.

After being expelled from Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne bounced back. He spread his wings with a very successful solo career, which recently earned him a second inauguration at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

"I was surprised to see how quickly he changed himself. And we were really very happy that he was successful and he changed his whole life," said the bassist.

"That's great, because he's successful and we're successful. We had one of the best-selling albums of all time in the Sabbath era, and he might be bigger than Sabbath," he said.
