JAKARTA - The completion of land procurement is still a major challenge in the construction of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) which connects South Sumatra (Sumsel) and Jambi.

Although the construction progress continues, a number of land areas that are not yet free make the local government (Pemda) and PT Hutama Karya (Persero) have to strengthen coordination to accelerate the completion of the national strategic project (PSN).

To speed up the process, Hutama Karya held an audience with Banyuasin Regent Askolani to discuss various obstacles to land procurement on the Palembang-Betung Section 1 and 2 and Betung-Tempino-Jambi Section 1 sections that cross the Banyuasin Regency area.

In the meeting which took place on Wednesday, June 4, 2026, Hutama Karya conveyed a number of obstacles that are still being faced.

This is especially at the Simpang Sebidang Exit Toll Pangkalan Balai and Simpang Sebidang Exit Toll Betung.

Both points are considered important to support community connectivity to the toll road.

In addition to presenting the development and challenges in the field, the company also asked for the support of the Banyuasin Regency Government (Pemkab) to help accelerate the resolution of land acquisition issues.

In response to this, Banyuasin Regent Askolani expressed his support for the development of national strategic infrastructure which is considered to provide benefits for the community as well as encourage regional economic growth.

The Banyuasin Regency Government is ready to coordinate with all stakeholders and conduct periodic monitoring and evaluation to help solve various obstacles to help solve various obstacles that are still faced in the field.

Based on the latest data, the progress of the Palembang-Betung construction, which has a length of 69.19 kilometers, has reached 83 percent, while the progress of land acquisition has only reached 87.45 percent.

Meanwhile, the Betung Tempino-Jambi Toll Road with a length of 170.7 kilometers recorded a construction progress of 59.47 percent and a land acquisition progress of 69.18 percent.

Acting Executive Vice President (EVP) Secretary of Hutama Karya Hamdani said that the synergy between the company and the local government was a factor in accelerating the completion of the project.

"Hutama Karya appreciates the support and commitment of the Banyuasin Regency Government in helping to resolve various land acquisition obstacles that are still faced in the field," said Hamdani as quoted from a written statement, quoted Friday, June 19.

"Through good coordination with all stakeholders, we are optimistic that the land procurement process can be completed gradually, so that the construction of the Palembang-Betung and Betung-Tempino-Jambi Toll Roads can run according to target and immediately provide benefits for the community and economic growth of the region," he added.

Separately, Hutama Karya also attended a coordination meeting to accelerate the procurement of land for the Betung-Tempino-Jambi Toll Road with Deputy Regent of Musi Banyuasin Abdur Rohman Husein on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The meeting was a follow-up to the discussion with the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) regarding various obstacles in procuring land for the toll project.

During the meeting, the participants discussed various challenges that are still faced in each work section as well as acceleration steps that can be taken to support development targets.

Deputy Regent of Musi Banyuasin Abdur Rohman Husein emphasized the commitment of the local government (Pemda) to fully support the construction of the Betung-Tempino-Jambi Toll Road as part of the PSN.

"The Musi Banyuasin Regency Government fully supports the PSN, including the BetungTempino-Jambi Toll Road, and is ready to find solutions to field problems such as land procurement. The Regency Government will conduct regular monitoring and evaluation to monitor and maximize the acceleration of land procurement and construction in the field," he explained.

As a form of support, the Musi Banyuasin Regency Government also plans to conduct a field visit to the project site to see the conditions on the ground and identify steps that can be taken to accelerate.

According to Hamdani, the Betung-Tempino-Jambi Toll Road is one of the important sections of the JTTS network that will connect South Sumatra and Jambi Provinces, as well as strengthening the connectivity of the economic area and logistics distribution on the island of Sumatra.

"Close collaboration between the local government, related agencies and Hutama Karya is an important factor in solving various challenges in the field, especially related to land acquisition," said Hamdani.

"We are optimistic that with continued synergy, the land acquisition and construction process can run more optimally so that the benefits of this toll road can be immediately felt by the community," he added.
