JAKARTA - Koes Barat is one of the foreign music groups that enlivened the third day of Synchronize Fest 2024. They performed Koes Plus songs at the Panggung Forest at Gambir Expo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Sunday, October 6.
Alan Bishop (vocals), Milky Way (guitar), Jim Davis (bass), Randall Dunn (keyboards), and Don McGreevy (drums) opened their performances by bringing a repertoire of Self Songs from the 1967 album To the So Called the Guilties released by the Koes Brothers.
Different from the Koes Brothers version, Alan sings all the lyrics in English.
The same thing was done when performing the second repertoire entitled 'Lovemu Has Passed', the song Koes Plus from the 1969 album Dheg Dheg Plas.
"Tonny Koeswoyo, Yon Koeswoyo, Murry, Yok Koeswoyo, they are all still alive," said Alan, reminding the audience that these names are always remembered through his work.
"Don't forget about Nomo and John too," continued Alan.
A total of 12 Koes Plus songs were performed by West Koes, where most of the lyrics have been changed to English, such as Living the Quiet', Winner', to Sad Story on Sunday.
"Thank you for Synchronize for inviting us," said Alan.
