The Indies And Feel Koplo Are Canceled To Appear At The 2024 Memofest Due To Negligence In Organizers Related To Accommodation

JAKARTA - Baskara Putra alias Hindia and Feel Koplo canceled their appearance at the 2024 Memofest event which was held at the Ex Selaparang Airport, Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara on Sunday, September 15.

The East Indies called the accommodation problem caused by the organizers the reason for the cancellation. The 30-year-old singer also dragged the names of two other performers, Nadin Amizah and Feel Koplo.

"For friends in Lombok, with regret and heavy heart, we, Nadin Amizah, Hindia, and Feel Koplo, were forced to cancel our appearance at the Lombok Memofest due to negligence regarding accommodation from the organizing committee," Baskara Putra wrote via Instagram upload, Sunday, September 15.

"Everything is possible, we have tried to consider being able to continue to appear without affecting our commitments to other activities, but unfortunately the exit point cannot be found. Hopefully we can meet again on another occasion," he continued.

The statement by the singer 'House to Home' was re-uploaded by Feel Koplo, which means that the group consisting of Tendi Ahmad and Maulfi Ichsan also experienced the same thing.

Furthermore, the East Indies told how the chronology of the cancellation was. Two days before the performance, he said the organizers had not provided a return ticket to Jakarta.

After being given leeway until September 14 at 22.00 WIB and not receiving clarity, the Indies finally decided not to leave.

Before this happened, we discussed all alternatives: aircraft charters (commercial to TNI), transited to other cities, and took land roads. All were unable to repatriate us on September 16 morning, and many of the teams who had commitments to work on that day could not be abandoned or shifted," said the Indies.

"Approximately heading to 00.00 WIB on September 15, we received news that the committee got a ticket home for the Indies (Lombok-Jakarta) group for September 16. After we tried to try and communicate again with the team until approximately 02.00 WIB, with a heavy heart. We want to convey that our presence at the Lombok Memofest remains not possible, because many of our team members have already returned outside Jakarta and some of us have also already taken calls and commitments to other jobs after passing the deadline we gave," he continued.

The East Indies stated its intention to be able to appear in Lombok, but this situation was not possible. The team has discussed finding ways to change the format of appearance, but there are technical considerations that cannot be forced.

"But at this point, the appearance of the Indies cannot be carried out, even in various formats, formations, or forms that we have considered, because technically our team is crippled in very significant circumstances because many members are already unable to attend," he said.

As of 02.26 WIB on September 15, the committee has obtained and confirmed information from us that it is still impossible for us to attend. Hopefully as soon as possible we can meet Lombok's friends on another day, thank you so much.

On the other hand, the organizers through the Memofest Instagram account stated that the event was still ongoing, with Nadin Amizah still appearing as the main line-up. However, they also provide refunds for those who decide to cancel attending.

"Today, the 2024 Memofest will continue. Let us finish what we started. See you at the venue, Memofrens!" reads the organizer's statement.

"Regarding the refund, we will inform you as soon as the 2024 Memofest takes place. Thank you for the understanding, Memofrens!"
