Starting From The Children's School Project, Raditya Dika Again Finds Music Passion

JAKARTA - The name Raditya Dika is known to the public as a comic and his works in the world of cinema, but the music world is also close to him, even since he was a child and has not become a public figure.

On Dewa Budjana's YouTube channel, the man who is familiarly called Radit admitted that he had had a classic guitar course since childhood. He also had a private guitar course and taught while still studying in Adelaide, Australia.

"I used to study jazz in Australia with guitar tutors there. Then I performed somewhere, then there were Hong Kong people looking at me, he thought there were good Indonesians playing the guitar, then he asked me to teach me the guitar," recalled Raditya Dika, quoting Dewa Budjana's YouTube channel, Friday, September 13.

"So, I'm tutoring Australians, getting a parturur from the teacher, so that's why I made the material to teach him (Hong Kong people)," he continued.

However, Radit decided to distance himself from music. In fact, he sells all guitars and other related items.

"In 2019, I arrived at the stage where I decided to stop because I didn't have the guitar anymore and never studied again," he said.

"In addition to other activities that are getting higher, I don't feel like playing well, making songs like that too. Well, I finally gave up," he added.

However, four months ago, the school where their children studied made a project where parents made a band and appeared at school. Radit, who thought it was just for fun, finally agreed to participate.

Finally, the 39-year-old man returned to music on stage, although not as a professional.

"There I want to see my son see his father on stage. So that they feel 'oh, my father just went up, I also want to ah, if there is a chance'," he said.

Since his son's school appearance, Raditya Dika has started to regenerate his passion for music. He returned to buy his guitar and equipment. Therefore, it is not surprising that we see the comic playing cover songs on his recent social media accounts.
