Pilu Membiru From Kunto Aji Was Represented By Erwin Gutawa And GUT Orchestra

JAKARTA - Kunto Aji became the first collaborator for GUT Orchestra, the new orchestrating entity formed by Erwin Gutawa Productions to enliven the Indonesian music industry.

GUT Orchestra led by Erwin Gutawa reworked the Pilu Membiru which was immediately sung by Kunto Aji, where Erwin himself played the piano.

The 'Pilu Membiru' itself was written by Kunto Aji, who became one of the mainstays on the Mantra album released in 2018. This song was recorded with a total of 67 million streams on Spotify and played 17 million times on YouTube.

With touching lyrics and beautiful melodies, the song was recasted in orchestral format, with Erwin Gutawa's arrangement and played by GUT Orchestra.

GUT Orchestra is a form of regeneration. We establish it with fellow musicians who I believe in, to present fresh orchestral works", said Erwin Gutawa in his statement, Friday, September 6.

With the introduction of a new version of 'Pilu Membiru', GUT Orchestra also established a new series of music projects called 'Indiechestra'.

Previously, this music project had composing 'To Become Dust', by Banda Neira with Gardika Gigih, which this time was presented in instrumental form.

After reintroducing 'Until Dust' and 'Blue Blue', GUT Orchestra promises new releases every week, throughout September.

Several other works that will be introduced come from several groups and musicians representing Indonesian indie music, such as THE SIGIT, Endah N Rhesa, as well as Float.
