The Dance Company Stays Active Even Though Pongki Barata Lives In Bali

JAKARTA - Pongki Barata's decision (bass) to settle in Bali forced him to be far from his three colleagues at The Dance Company, namely Aryo Wahab (vocals), Baim (guitar), and Nugie (drums).

Pongki said his decision to stay and settle in Bali was not a problem for The Dance Company personnel.

Since deciding to go to Bali in 2016, Pongki admitted that he had communicated it to other personnel.

"At The Dance Company, we don't complain because we explain the process well," Pongki said when met in Kemang, South Jakarta some time ago.

It is acknowledged that the decision to settle in Bali has an effect on the offer of a gig for The Dance Company, which is mostly in Jakarta.

When there is an event organizer who wants to invite The Dance Company to perform, they must prepare extra costs to bring Pongki to Jakarta.

"So, I don't know why people still want to," said the former Jikustik vocalist.

"But not everyone wants to. Well, this needs understanding from friends at The Dance Company, and friends at The Dance Company are very, very understanding," he added.

When viewed from his official social media account, The Dance Company is still active to perform today, with many gig locations in Jakarta.

However, Pongki cs is not very active in producing new works. The last single of The Dance Company, "Come on Marriage", was released in 2021.
