JAKARTA - Good news for music lovers, especially those who like physical releases. The Greenhouse (ERK) effect presents a vinyl format for his last album, Rimpang.

Launched with the demajors record company today, Friday, August 30, Rimpang in vinyl format is present in two versions, namely regular (black) and limited edition (clear).

The launch of vinyl is accompanied by a series of events which include meet and greet sessions, ERK live broadcasts on Synchronize Radio in the Jalan Sore-Sore program, and sessions playing songs from black disks by personnel.

Cholil Mahmud welcomed the launch of vinyl. The ERK frontman sees the presence of a new format that will give other alternative listeners to enjoy Rimpang.

"Because Rimpang is the last album at this time, our aesthetic taste is indeed there," said Cholil Mahmud in his statement, Friday.

"Of course, I am very happy with the presence of this vinyl, there are also many ways to listen to the Rimpang album. It can go through digital streaming platforms, CDs, and now finally vinyl," continued the vocalist.

Meanwhile, the album Rimpang is inspired by the rhizome theory by Deleuze and Guattari, which is an illustration of how hope, both small and large, appears randomly, nonlinearly, without hierarchy, and in various situations spreads quietly.

The 'Heroic' is the first single of this album, as well as an introduction or lattice to the next ERK musical direction. Furthermore, the 'Fun Kaya Fun', the focus track in this album, was performed with Suraa from Cempaka Surakusumah which often helps ERK appear on many stages.

At the 2023 Indonesian Music Award (AMI) Awards, Rimpang was nominated for Best Alternative Album and single 'Fun Kaya Fun' to be selected in the Best Alternative Nomination Duo/Group/Collaboration.

For fans who do not have the opportunity to attend the launch event, the regular version of the Rimpang (black) vinyl album will be available starting August 31, 2024 on all distribution networks and website demajors. Meanwhile, the limited edition will follow in the near future.
