Deep Purple Vocalist Answers Rumors Of Pension And Last Tour

JAKARTA - Ian Gillan, vocalist of Deep Purple, does not show any desire to retire. Even at the age of 79 years, his musical spirit is still encouraging.

Rumors of quitting music have been sticking out since he planned his last tour, which is reportedly titled Yes, = 1 More Time. From there, many assumed this was a farewell show like Aerosmith did.

Interestingly, Ian denied the title of the tour. To Ultimate Classic Rock, he had not thought about hanging a mic in the near future.

"That's cheap gossip because it's not our tour title. The title is Unleashed. On this Deep Purple tour, we are still happy and enjoy it," said Ian Gillan.

According to Ian, when musicians can't reach a certain level, it's a time when they have to retire. But while adjustments can still be made, he feels he can continue.

"When we couldn't reach that level, of course we adjusted it and adapted to do the best we could. But when we were at an embarrassing level of energy and no one wanted to do it again, it was time to stop," he continued.

At the end, the frontman Deep Purple summarized his condition and Deep Purple briefly. "But for now, so far so good," he said.
