Anggun Suggests Young People To Learn From Old Songs

JAKARTA - Anggun successfully held a single concert titled "Angle and Friends Ears" at the Plenary Hall, the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Sunday, July 28 evening.

Not only performing his own songs, the 51-year-old singer also sang several famous songs from other singers, such as the 'Small Candles' performed with Isyana Sarasvati and the 'Santiwara Stage' performed with Achmad Albar.

On the sidelines of his appearance, Anggun conveyed a message to young people who were present. He wanted them to be able to learn from old songs.

"I really want to, these young people listen to old songs, the song James F Sundah, the song Chrisye, the song Ebiet G Ade," said Anggun.

"From the old songs, we can learn the composition of the music, learn the lyrics too," continued Anggun.

"Because the lyrics are really good. Actually, it's simple, but you know that."

He gave an example of the song Cinta which was popularized by Vina Panduwinata. According to him, this song has an in-depth message and a well-worked musical composition.

"Well, this next song, this is a song that I am very happy about. Made by the maestro, Addie MS. And this song, every time I hear the chorus, sometimes I like to cry, not because the song is sad, but the song gives hope," said Anggun.

The song is about love. And if we hear the lyrics, we absorb it, we know when we fall in love, we don't want to be hurt. We have hope that people whose hearts we love to take care of our hearts are good," he continued.

For information, the 'Enshrings Anggun and Friends' concert was accompanied by Magentha Orchestra led by Andi Rianto.

Several guest musicians were also presented, namely Achmad Albar, Ian Antono, Isyana Sarasvati and Fabio Aser.
