Inspired By Favorite Radio, Floating Points Presents Opening Single For Cascade Album

The Floating Points shared interesting news with the plan to release their new album titled 'Cascade'. This album is planned to be presented to all fans on September 13, 2024 through the Ninja Tune music label.

Present as the opening song, the musician whose real name is Sam Shepherd also shared a single titled Key103 which has an interesting story behind it.

The title of the new song takes the name from Sam's favorite underground radio at Manchester which he used to enjoy during college. The underground radio is a place for Sam to expand his musical knowledge beyond the classic music composers he studied while at flightham's School of Music in Manchester, England.

Sam collaborated with a Tokyo artist named Akiko Nakayama in making the 'KEY103' single artwork. The painter managed to liven up two-dimensional works by combining the movement of energy and beauty of various colors in a format called 'Alive Painting'.

Talking about the album 'Cascade', this work is an explosion of various unresolved things. By the end of 2022 Sam was in the California desert while he was working on his new album in a different, even simpler way.

"I have a studio at home with all the equipment I often use, but I'm not there so I just use my laptop and do it all over my headphones," said Sam. His relationship with electronic music and his hometown, namely Manchester, has a different meaning during the process of making this album. There is something about Manchester that is always present in my area, and I think the reason is that there are music shops," said Sam, who often calls his songs the name of an important building or institution in an area.

A number of songs on the album 'Cascade' are inspired by thedust bowl in the California desert, but Sam's new album is an album about Sam's youth that he spent on Manchester. It was there that Sam discovered real electronic musical power in various forms. Although the album "Cascade" is a continuation of Sam's previous album "Crush" (2019), he broke through various boundaries in his upcoming new album. Nine songs on the "Cascade" were left shining for eight minutes which gave each of the space songs to explore the sound and gyrove.
