March 19 In History: Nike Ardilla Died In A Car Crash At 19 Years Old

JAKARTA - On March 19, 1995, at around 06.15 Western Indonesia Time, the young singer Nike Ardilla passed away. Her departure surprised many people, considering her relatively young age: 19 years old. Nike Ardilla died after her car hit a one-meter-high wall fence.

In the accident, only the driver's door was damaged. Nike Ardilla was bleeding in the head due to the hard impact. The body of the singer who is also a film player is buried in Imbanegara Village, Ciamis Regency, West Java.

Quoting Kompas, Saturday, March 18, 1995, at night, to be precise at around 22.00 Western Indonesia Time, Nike Ardilla just arrived at her house, on Parakan Saat I Street No. 37 Bandung. Previously, Nike Ardilla left home for a few days to finish shooting a soap opera in Bogor.

Only briefly at home, Nike Ardilla then went out with her friend, Sopiatun Wahyuni. Around 24.00 Western Indonesia Time, Nike Ardilla was at the Pollo Bandung discotheque until Sunday, March 19, 1995, at 04.00 Western Indonesia Time.

Not going home immediately, Nike Ardilla stopped by to eat at the Kintamani restaurant, Lombok Street, Bandung. The accident happened after they ate.

Sopiatun and Nike Ardilla are on their way home. One of the eyewitnesses said that the car driven by Nike Ardilla suddenly shook, hitting trash cans and wall fences. The sound of the impact was so loud.
