Josh Homme Undergoes Surgery, Queens Of The Stone Age Cancels Eight Shows

JAKARTA - Queens of the Stone Age (QOTSA) announced the cancellation of eight European tour schedules that were supposed to be held this July. The reason is, Josh Homme (vocals) must return to the United States for surgery.

Through a statement posted on the official Instagram account, the Seattle rock band expressed regret for thirst to cancel the show.

"QOTSA regrets to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency operations," read a statement from the Queens of the Stone Age posted Tuesday, July 9.

"Every effort has been made to go ahead and play for you, but there is no longer any choice to continue."

Of the eight canceled shows, QOTSA will not feature at festivals in France and Slovakia, as well as major shows in Croatia and Greece.

Prior to the announcement, they had also canceled their appearance at the AMA Festival in Italy on July 5.

However, the schedule for the European and North American tours from August to November is still listed on the band's official website.

Although it is unclear what type of operation Homme will undergo, he is known to be battling cancer in recent years. The vocalist was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and underwent surgery to eliminate it.

For information, QOTSA released "In Times New Roman...," last year, which was their first album in six years. Later, the band announced the tour of The End isrial for North America followed by a series of shows in Europe.
