Jordan Rudess Opens Voice About Mike Portnoy's Return To Dream Theater

JAKARTA - Jordan Rudess (keyboard) spoke openly about Mike Portnoy's (drum) return to Dream Theater after 13 years. He said he was happy that the drummer finally returned.

According to Rudess, Portnoy's return to the band is very natural. There is no specific adjustment that must be made, considering that each member knows the 57-year-old drummer well.

"Yes, it's great to have him back. In many ways it feels like we've never lost the rhythm. Because he's one of the people who started this band," Jordan Rudess said during a recent interview with Serbian Highwaystar.

The welcoming process is very fast and we are all very happy to be able to rebuild what we have. I mean, it feels like reuniting the core band," he continued.

Rudess also talked about the upcoming "40th Anniversary Tour 2024 - 2025" DREAM THEATER. He believes there will be many fans looking forward to a reunion with Portnoy. He even called the upcoming tour concert the most interesting concert they would have done.

"Yes, this will be a very, very interesting concert, as you know, because everyone is very excited about the reunion of all of us. And Mike will also help a lot to choose the song we play the setlist for. That's one of the great talents," said Rudess.

We're going to choose some songs that everyone really wants to hear. And, yes, I think they might be able to expect one of the most interesting Dream Theater shows they've ever visited. I can almost guarantee it."

For information, Dream Theater is also recording the sixteenth album. This is their first work since the joining of Mike Portnoy last year.
