Exiting The Comfortable Zone, Matheo In Rio Releases Mini Album Solo Other Side

Jakarta - Matheo In Rio released a solo EP titled "Other Side". Containing a total of five tracks, this work is the result of exploration of collaboration with other musicians outside their comfort zone.

This is so different from when he worked on a work with Engage in Vengeance (EIV), the band he strengthened. Although synonymous with rock music, this album carries the theme of love for young people.

In working on his solo album, Matheo tends to choose to be calmer in his music without losing his characteristics as a rock vocalist. One single titled "Oh My Girl", was introduced as track focus.

"This song tells the story of high school children's love, when they have a crush on girls there are various mixed feelings," said Matheo In Rio in a written broadcast received by VOI.

"Sometimes at those times we don't dare to directly state that we like it, sometimes we tease with our attention but attention. And for this mini album, I just want to be heard well through the songs I try to sing," he said.

In the song "Oh My Girl", Matheo tends to be more straightforward in sharing his story from the lyric side. As for the music department, the arrangement sounds more upbeat than some other songs on this album.

In the process of working on this mini album, Matheo appointed Sandy Canester to sit in the music producer chair in its entirety, including helping the production, arrangement, and lyrics process.

To finalize the album in terms of production, Matheo also collaborated with Indra Q to work on the mastering process.

"This album is special for me, because through this work, I try to fully talk about love in a simple and easy-to-understand language," said Matheo In Rio.

Currently, five songs in Matheo In Rio's mini album "Other Side" can be heard on various digital music player platforms.
