Stereowall Rili EP Trapped In Imagination, Becomes A New Round In Music Career

JAKARTA - Stereowall, an alternative rock band that has been active since 2012, has just released a new EP entitled trapped in imagination. This EP marks the chapter of Stereowall in their 12 years of work, featuring new nuances and colors that are different from previous works.

Unlike the previous Stereowall songs written by Rama (guitarist), at this EP, Tita (vocalist) and Mamed (bassist) participated in the process of writing song lyrics.

There are three songs in the EP that are trapped in imagination, including: 1. trapped in imagination2. sabotage of the soul 3. e.m.o.

The first and second songs written by Tita, 'trapped in imagination' and sabotage of the soul' are inspired by anxiety and personal life. The composition of music and arrangements made by Rama and Rei explores the lyrics that have been written by Tita, being transformed into a work that tends to be more melancholic than Stereowall's previous songs. This change is considered to be the maturity of Stereowall.

While the third song written by Mamed entitled e.m.o. (emotionally modified outcast) became the binding of this EP, taking into account the theme and nuances of the song that had been written by Tita. The lyrics of the song e.m.o. the majority were taken from pieces of the 2000s emo song, with the aim of making it easier for people to learn even though they are lyrics in English.

"We felt like we didn't know anyone before, but we have our own emotional motivation, so we can do better," said Mamed about the song e.m.o. which he wrote.

"The point is what you want to convey from the song e.m.o. is that we convey our thoughts and anxiety through a harmonious and melancholic melody," he explained in a media statement received on Saturday, June 29.

Pada proses awal pembuatan lagu, Stereowall sudah memiliki tujuan yang jelas untuk menghasilkan karya yang berbeda dari karya mereka sebelumnya, yang tentunya menjadikan hal itu sebuah tantangan. Selain itu, bagi Tita, sang vokalis atau frontliner dari band Stereowall tentu juga menghadapi tantangan dalam proses pembuatan EP ini. Kita mau Tita menguasai semu first, paham karakter, paham konsep, dan paham partanya. Bagana cara apat bisa sangat, dia minimal harus tulis lirik launnya, ujar Mamed.

From this change in Stereowall style at EP, they believe that there will be positive or negative reactions, some like and may also dislike the new colors and characters displayed by Stereowall, as a milestone in their careers.
