Calling Pete Townshend The Hero Of His Music, Brian May: I Owe A Lot To Him

JAKARTA - Brian May, through his Instagram account, uploaded a statement that was said some time ago. He spoke in the context of an inspirational band and musician for Queen.

We (Queens) want to bring people to the stratosphere. We're always like that. We were inspired by our heroes to do that, and I put The Who at the top of the list," reads a statement uploaded by Brian May, Monday, May 20.

"Pete Townshend is a mood change expert, a chord suspended expert. I owe him a lot... That's the whole principle of early electric guitar, so you can strengthen it on stage and not feedback," he continued.

I've seen Pete Townshend, once again, wow! Pete Townshend is a guitar god and it will always be! I've seen him stand there and let the guitar blow up by itself.

May's statement was originally uploaded by the @tracyannsee account. The Queen guitarist was grateful to have been reminded.

Furthermore, May felt that her praise for Townshend was not enough. He called the big role of The Who guitarist for rock music.

"I'm glad I said this. I might not say enough. I can't imagine a rock guitar without Pete Townshend," May wrote in the caption.
