JAKARTA - Mamoru Fujisawa alias Joe Hisaishi, a composer who wrote a lot of music for Studio Ghibli, stated that he had banned the use or arrangement of his songs.

Through Instagram, the 73-year-old composer uploaded a statement letter made with the label regarding the prohibition.

You have to apply to the copyright management organization to use music, and official permission from the composer is needed to arrange for the music.

This was done because of the many cases where the rearrangement of Joe Hisaishi's work was carried out in violation of copyright. In addition, many concerts are considered to have taken advantage of his name.

"Currently, we can find many concerts around the world that organize and use Hisaishi music without permission. Broadcasting music without permission is a violation of copyright and the creator's moral rights, and absolutely unacceptable."

With this statement, Joe Hisaishi and the label asked all parties to respect the composer's copyright and make an agreement in advance for the commercial use of music.
