Jennifer Hudson Reflects On Failure When Eliminated By American Idol

JAKARTA - Jennifer Hudson remembers her failure in the music world that occurred 20 years ago. Through her X account, the 42-year-old singer uploaded a video of herself being eliminated from American Idol.

Meanwhile, Hudson started his music career as a contestant for the third season of American Idol in 2004. Unfortunately, he had to end the competition in seventh place.

The Spotlight singer said his failure at American Idol was God's way of turning things around and making him achieve the success he is today.

"Today in 2004, I was eliminated from American Idol. But God turned things around for my good," said Jennifer Hudson.

From Idol to EGOT!!! 20 years later, and now back on TV with my own show. Never give up on your dreams, all of you," he continued.

Hudson also reminded people to motivate themselves to move forward and achieve success. According to him, only we ourselves know our potential.

"If I can do it, you can too! If there's no point in working hard, then there's no point at all! Remember that no one knows your potential as well as you yourself. Keep on believing, keep on believing, and keep moving forward," he said.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Hudson is one of the few singers who holds the title of EGOT, a predicate for those who have won Emmys, Grammys, Oscars and Tony Awards.

In fact, Jennifer Hudson is listed as the youngest woman to hold the title of EGOT in 2022.

Several other names that hold the title of EGOT include Elton John,▁olahragapi Goldberg, John Legend, Richard Rodgers, Mel Brooks, Robert Lopez, Tim Rice, and Alan Menken.
