New Collaboration Bintang Indrianto And Atiek CB On The 'Nusantara' Album

JAKARTA - Two senior musicians Bintang Indrianto and Atiek CB collaborated on a new album titled Nusantara. This album contains seven songs which at the same time mark Atiek CB's return from a long vacuum.

The collaboration between Bintang Indrianto and the great singer in the 1980s began with his second meeting at the Mount Bromo Jazz event last year.

Awalal dikenalkan oleh Dewa Budjana. Setelah kemudian berkolaborasi di Jazz Gunung saya sembih bertanya, jika ada lagu dia yang bisa saya membuat aransemen musiknya. Ternyata Mbak Atiek malah mengganya dan memberitahukan kesedikannya jika saya ada lagu untuknya, ujar Bintang Indrianto dalam keterangannya, Jumat, 5 April.

"It's an interesting challenge that I realized because it hasn't necessarily been repeated. At that time I couldn't imagine, an Atiek CB sang in my song," he continued.

Of the seven songs presented, six of them were written by Bintang Indrianto, while the rest were written by his wife, Ernie.

Atiek CB is happy with his collaboration this time, he even admitted to admiration for the works produced by the bassist.

The experience at Bromo made me fall in love with his music Bintang and interested in exploring something new with more challenging music. I feel Stars can provide space for me to explore music that is closer to my idealism," said Atiek CB.

Meanwhile, Bintang praised Atiek CB for successfully presenting a new color on the seven existing songs. The recording process also provides its own experience.

"Mbak Atiek always has his own color to blend with music arrangements, he always considers the harmony of the available music, then swiftly replied to it, in his way," said Bintang Indrianto.

"Unexpectedly, Bintang is unlike most arrangers or other musicians who when working with singers are usually too controlling. Stars always fully entrust me to be creative according to my character as a singer and give freedom. Star's approach makes a singer's confidence like me. That's very important," concluded Atiek CB.
