JAKARTA - The 11-year long wait for Cakra Khan ended after releasing his second full album titled DIVINE. Despite being active in music since 2010, previously this 31-year-old singer had only released an album full of Cakra Khan (2013).

It took at least two years for Cakra Khan to collect 15 songs on the album, four of which have already been released.

"The recording process is interesting because it is not only in Jakarta. The process is in Bali, there are also those at Abbey Road, London," said Cakra Khan during a press conference in Senayan, Central Jakarta, Monday, February 12.

Not only diverse places, Cakra also presents a lot of colors on his new album. He wants to explore with many different musical styles, even those that have never been tried.

"On this album, I try to be different, not the same. From what I have released, I have taken what I feel there is a new color. Meanwhile, in the eleven songs, they are different, some are soul, indie pop, some are following," said Cakra.

"Honestly, with this release I am happy, because I am not stuck in the same thing. After all the results later, at least I know I did something freely."

Next, talking about a song that has a special meaning, Cakra Khan mentions the song created by Alffy Rev entitled Rindu Tak Bersara.

Of all, the most meaningful thing is Rindu Tak Bersara. This is the most difficult song on record. Because I dedicate this song to my late father," he said.

"The recording is difficult because we have to regulate our emotions, so the meaning of the song can be conveyed."

Through the DIVINE album, Cakra Khan also collaborated with his fellow musician, Ade Govinda. The two of them had a duet on the song You Are.

"We've been working together for a long time, from 2014. Yes, finally on your track It's that we can collaborate together, which is the last track on this album," said Ade.

In addition to the two songs above, the DIVINE album consists of the song Broken Symphony, Salah But Good, To Heart, Light, Tennessee Whiskey, Take The Pain, Not In Line, Choose Him, Coming Home, Later, As Great As Any Love, Get Together, And Your Relations.

On his new album, Cakra Khan collaborates with Petra Sihombing as producer. Not only that, there are many other names involved, such as Aisha Retno, Jaz Hayat, Mario G Klau, Tohpati, Mario Kacang, Ahmad Fredy, NSG, Mariju James, Roommate Project, and Nomaden.
